About QuietLedger

Who am I?
Hi, I’m Matthew Oliver.
I’m from Mechanicsville, Virginia, and I’m currently studying Accounting and Computer Information Systems at James Madison University. After graduation, I plan to earn my CPA license and continue pursuing a career in accounting.
I started QuietLedger Books to gain hands-on experience and help small businesses in my community manage their finances with confidence. During high school, I worked closely with a small business owner, and seeing what it takes to run a business first-hand sparked my passion for helping others succeed.
That experience — combined with my love for numbers and organization — drives my mission today:
To help small businesses grow by maintaining accurate, reliable financial records, so owners can focus on what they do best.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and recently spent a summer living and working in Alaska, where I gained my first bookkeeping client. Outside of work and school, I’m also an animal lover — a foster dad to an 8-month-old kitten, with two dogs and three cats back home.
My goal is to grow QuietLedger Books into a trusted bookkeeping firm that helps business owners exceed their goals through clarity and consistency. Your books should work quietly in the background — smooth, stress-free, and always accurate — so you can spend your energy where it matters most.
